inexperienced and uneducated 23 year old takes a 30 ton semi onto a 6 ton limit 130 year old bridge, on Christmas day. It folds like a wet towel

There are a few things to be noted here that happened before the calamity with the bridge went down. The first was a wrong turn which started a series of bad decisions that inexperienced drivers make. Following the wrong turn there were attempts to get the truck going in the right direction and those all failed. Instead of stopping and coming up with a plan, Lambright just kept digging a deeper and deeper hole. Should we mention that her 17-year old cousin was with her in the truck? We’re not sure that matters other than to mention there was a person who could have jumped out, stopped traffic, etc.

She (the driver) has only had a CDL for 7 months. When the semi entered the bridge, the trailer immediately began ripping open due to the trailer was taller than the top of the bridge. As the vehicle continued the weight of the vehicle caused the bridge to collapse.

  1. This happened about 50 miles from where I live. When I saw it on the news I turned to my wife and said "that will probably end up on the justacarguy blog in a few days".

    1. Ha! Wow, the first time anyone ever told me that they'd predicted what I might post!
I passed on it because it's a young woman, until the full story came out that she'd had her 17 year old cousin with her, screwed up so many other chances to get to her destination, and then finally didn't understand the weight of her truck, vs the limit on the bridge, and the fact that the bridge height is less than her rigs height. That is just too much stupid to pass up on remarking on.

  3. Do you think she still has a job?

    1. nope. No one will hire someone that screws up this bad, has such bad judgement, and can't understand how much her rig weighs. She's young, and has a lot of years to find some other career
