Mr. Merceedes was the name of the car - Emil Jellinek is the driver, his daughter's name was Merecedes. The use of "Mercedes-Benz" was still years away as Gottlieb Daimler had yet to enter into a partnership with Karl Benz.

    1. Well, thanks for your info, I bet I already know about Daimler and Benz, which I didn't mention, so I don't know why you bring them up. And I didn't call him Mercedes Benz either. I called him Mr Mercedes, as that was what (well, here's a history lesson for you that you seem to not be aware of as I read the article and you didn't) he had his name changed to. Says so right there in the article. It points out that he was the first man to take the name of a daughter instead of the other way round. But, that strays from my intent, which is to remind you that I know what I'm doing, and that would be why I'm the one with the website. Mr Mercedes wasn't the name of the car. Re-read the 4th paragraph "like many other racers of the time, competed under a pseudonym, adopting a name dear to his heart: Mr. Mercedes. -" What are you trying to accomplish? Are you trying to point out where you think I've made mistakes? Don't waste your time. If I wanted your critisism, I'd ask for it. If you weren't wrong about this, I might feel differently, but you screwed up, not me. So stuff your brilliance somewhere it's welcome

My,my,my........aren't we sanctimonious. I must have missed the memo about knowing what you're talking about being a prerequisite for starting a blog. All this time I was under the impression any bozo with a computer could post whatever the hell they wanted to spew forth - it pains me to hear that all those white supremacist and death to gays sites are completely accurate. Your record of inaccuracies is legion, your fumbling of facts highly humorous and entertaining. I will give credit where credit is due and applaud your ability to spend countless hours scouring the Internet for photos and videos to republish. Keep up the good work

    3. did you also miss the memo about knowing what you're talking about before commenting in error about correct info on a post? That's the problem you can't face about yourself, being a sanctimonious ass is why you can't see deal with other people, and feeling the compulsion to correct them, even when you fuck up, and pull shit out of nowhere, and get busted for being a douchebag that FAILed to get your info correct when attempting to criticize my post on Emil... how that shit must taste in your mouth this morning. Vitriol is the acid that only destroys it's container dumbass. Being unable to create causes trolls to critique. Eat shit and die

You can tell the size of a man by the size of things that bother him.
You are indeed a small man. Once again you fall back on profanity and name calling instead of an intelligent response to the point in contention. I stand on my original comments regarding your misleading and erroneous post. My knowledge regarding Daimler-Benz history comes through my own research, not a simple regurgitation of a web article. For your edification, I had not read the Hemmings article when I initially replied. I have great respect for Hemmings and hold them in high regard, but this article does have some inaccuracies. Enjoy your ignorance, I know I have.

    1. I can tell you don't get laid much. The rest of us can tell the size of a man by his hiding his name, condescending attitude though he's on the wrong side of the argument because his reading comprehension isn't up to par, and ignorance of his own unironic use of the word sanctimonoius you pretentious jackass. If swears and such bother you, fuck off. Simple enough dickhead? You already had a chance to read the intelligent response, and you weren't up to the challenge you dumbass peabrain. I don't care that you're standing on your comments, they weren't filled with an overabundance of accuracy, to the point that you said his name wasn't Mr Mercedes, which you still haven't copped to, since you implore your respect for Hemmings, then deal with it. My knowledge of Daimler Benz, and yours, isn't relevant here. Nothing in the image of the Phoenix and Emil has jack squat to do with Damiler or Benz. Or Damiler-Benz. Or the rest of the car world. I'm just fat and happy knowing I'll go on doing my website with a son in my heart and dance in my feet, and you'll continue to be a miserable bastard with no friends. .. who still checks out my site because you are compelled to troll instead of do something useful. Those who can, do. Those who can't criticize those that can. You pinhead.

I am truly humbled by your dizzying intellect. I stand corrected, your knowledge and authority on repeating what others have written is unparalleled. Your ability to then take other people's words and photos and through the modern miracle of cut and paste add them to a blog template is far beyond the capabilities of a mere mortal such as myself. I am curious though about your interpretation of the line about the size of a man, especially since I was quoting you. Perhaps that was just something else you found on the Internet, thought was cool, and tried to pass off as your own.

    1. Again, you can't see the irony of condescending to me that you feel I'm putting in lazy work by "taking other peoples words / cut and paste / pass off as your own" while saying you are quoting me. ... maybe you didn't make it to school the day they taught on this subject, or didn't pay attention in class they day they explained about quotes. That would be the definition of "repeating what others have written". It's a respectable homage to the smarter, more brilliant, or simply more eloquent that have so perfectly phrased a thought, that nothing else will improve on their words. Also, repeating what others have written is the time honored tradition of actors, theater performers, and politicians that need speech writers. Furthermore, repeating what others have written? Not only is that research, it's how news papers and broadcast news put together the collection of the events of the day that they then share with the reader or viewer. In some cases, that's how I share the cool stuff I find on the internets websites I admire, with my readers. Many websites (Including our mutually respected Hemmings, do this) Are you really this dense to not understand the common workings of the world you live in? You don't get out of your closet much, do you? You didn't think that one through very well, did ya? That right there is my knowledge and authority on repeating what others have written. Put it in your pipe and smoke it. As for quoting others, this is my website, not high school, and showing the work isn't a requirement, nor is citing my sources, nor is a bibliography. You are proof that most people are stuck in high school forever, and do not progress past the adolescent nonsense, popularity contests, bullying, and cliques mentality regardless of the number of candles on their last birthday cake.

I will try to explain and use small words so you can understand. I quoted what was ostensibly your words. Sorry - ostensibly means probably but perhaps not. You twisted the meaning of the quote trying to insult and offend me. I find this hilarious.- that means very funny. Please keep up your fumbling in your future posts - yours is the best comedy site I know. (The Pierce Arrow Lion is still one of my favorites)

    1. Well, you're now on record as calling this Phoenix "Mr. Mercedes". Not the driver, the car. Jackass
