my car books bookshelf

this last photo, is a set of books the same as a set that Vic Edelbrock started with.. and that is good enough for me. I photographed them in the display case at the Edelbrock Garage open house in 2012 http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2011/05/vics-garage-collection-of-edelbrock.html and you can even see them online as they have been added to the Google library http://www.archive.org/stream/automobileengin00unkngoog#page/n15/mode/2up

  1. Your bookshelf would be marginaaly more complete if you add Tom Wolfe's 'The Kandy-Kolored Tangerine-Flake Streamline Baby'.

Nice blog, I like it a lot.

    1. That book is on my wishlist at Amazon.com... It hasn't been a higher priority than the other books I've wanted to read for fun yet. Good call though! Thanks for the compliment, how long have you been reading along?

    2. Jess, you have a great collection of car books. I really get a kick out of the leather bound Automobile Engineering volume set you have. They look well weathered.

    3. Js, they are, I got them individually from Ebay. I even looked through them... I believe I posted some of the stuff, they cover everything from Balcksmithing, building a garage and layout for business, casting Babbitt journal bearings, etc. They are very thorough.

    4. I've known your blog for years, visiting occasionally, but only followed it every day for a couple of months (I'm a motorcycle guy, but always had a soft spor for drag racing). The Tom Wolfe book I found by accident at a flea market here in Denmark; having read 'The Right Stuff' and 'Bonfire of The Vanities' I knew it would be good.
