Ummm, no criticism here Royce... those are really old road flares. They are filled with some petroleum substance like Sterno I suppose, and maybe a big wick, and people would light them off at night when broken down... those old vehicles before the 60's were using generators instead of alternators, 6 volt systems instead of 12, and when the motor wasn't on... there wasn't much for lighting or hazard lights to warn traffic of a dead car on the road. But you'll only cringe when you re-read the title of the post. Sorry man. Glad you are interested though!
