This was my father Hans Schmidt the fourth's car. Born 12\29/42. I'm 30 years old and just now found out he won so many things. A modest man of great accomplishment. From Shooting trap across the US to racing cars like this one. Everyday is a new story most people don't believe. I'm proud as one of his twin daughters, two of the four children we know of! ;) To see his car with his name, and " some of what he won" in the Cobra Museum. I can only hope to see it in person and sit where he sat someday soon, with him by my side. To tell me the stories all over again. I love you dad!-Patty Schmidt
It's so cool to learn wonderful things about parents! I just did a story last week about the dad and grand dad of a co-worker of mine, https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2018/10/sy-used-to-own-grand-prix-motors-in.html and was shocked to learn his grand dad immigrated to New York, through Ellis Island, as an indentured servant. His dad raced with Andretti and Stirling Moss. Astounding family history story, like yours!
Hi Patty my Dad raced as well in the Northwest. His name Chet Mcfallo CSX 2075. He built his dragon snake and was a independent racer. I recently got to drive the Cobra when the owner flew the car to Portland so we could see the car again.
