reason a C4 Corvette is better for racing than a C5? Smaller body, less air resistance. 2,025 Commemorative Edition Z06s were made and they had carbon fiber hoods, another plus

  1. The caption on this picture is kind of a mixed bag. Many people would question that the C4 was better than the C5 for racing. The C5 had a transaxle, which improved weight distribution, and a more rigid chassis. It's correct that the c4 had a smaller body and less air resistance. Hundreds of thousands of C4 Corvettes were made between 1984 and 1996. The claim of 2024 made and having carbon fiber hoods refers to the 2004 Commemorative Edition (a C5) which is shown in the picture.

    1. My fault, I was heading in the direction of the 2004 commemorative edition, and with that in mind, posted the stat on the carbon fiber hoods, but forgot to call that specific issue up.
Keep in mind, I'm just a car guy, not a professional blogger, professional writer, I have to editor, no proof reader.
I post it raw, readers see it without any wax or polish. Mistakes and flaws are everywhere.
So are the good things. It all balances out in the end

    2. as I post one thing, then move on and post other things, and sometimes go back and add more to some post and then read through them all looking for obvious mistakes and missing info, about a half dozen to a dozen things are in the mix every day, sometimes more, and not many get as much attention as you might think
