San Juan Texas has made it illegal to cruise, or have a car gathering in a parking lot. That's right, illegal to park in parking lots to hang out

A pin prick on the southern most tip of Texas on the Mexico border, seems to have nothing for it's cops to do, but be a pain in the ass to car guys.

"has recently passed an ordinance that has not only banned cruising, but has also made it illegal to meet up in business parking lots and for business owners to allow a car meet to happen in their own parking lot."

According to local paper The Monitor, the move was made in response to local businesses complaining about patrons being unable to access their stores while cruising activities were happening.

“We started receiving a lot of complaints from businesses along Raul Longoria regarding the car clubs cruising up and down Raul Longoria,” San Juan police spokesman SGT. Rolando Garcia explained. “We ended up noticing that on Thursday nights we used to have hundreds and hundreds of cars driving at 10 miles per hour up from the Expressway all the way to Owassa Road.”

the annual Cruise for Kids, benefits the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Dieguito, and it's the most comprehensive gathering of supercars outside of SEMA

it's all open to the public, and you can walk in to drool... be polite and don't drip on the cars... and you'll see most every expensive car made in the past 5 years. About 1/4 of the cars were Ferrari

the only place you'll ever see Bugatti on the public roads... seriously. I've photographed a dozen or so, and only at car shows or dealerships. No one drives a million dollar vehicle anywhere

Just contrasting the size of the Rolls with the Audi

Gullwings and scissor wings (inspired by the Countach which needed them as a swing out would have never fit between cars in a parking lot) and the only Spyker I've seen in person

I'm pretty sure this is the only Lexus I've ever posted, probably the only one I will ever post. The normal ones are uninteresting

yup, two Avendators

two different Ariel Atoms

and a McLaren

Above, the Nissan GTR which has kicked the butt of the rest of the supercars, for a fraction the cost

at least 3 new Maserati

and a Tesla

damn good looking new Jaguar design

am I the only one that immediately thought of the Austin Powers Jag? This is a terrific looking paint job design

cool old cars are NOT excluded... this GTO and a 60's Mustang were there

Hot Rod, Car Craft, and the El Segundo "Automobile Driving Museum" are teaming up for car shows this summer, next one is tomorrow Friday April 27th

Makes me wonder how happy Freiburger is that he doesn't have to store any of these at his place
Recently featured in the last 2 issues of Hot Rod magazine, this Ranchero was a tribute recreation of the late 1960's Hot Rod Magazine Ranchero that went off roading in the Carrera Panamerica (I think) and they intending this new one to go have fun in Alaska with. Yeah, intended, because that didn't happen. Instead they went to the Grand Canyon.

Freiburger's 1970 Super Bee, and I think that hemi was one of Ray Bartons dragster engines... way over the top for a street car, and they had to rebuild it and lower the crazy aspect of some parts becaue they couldn't make it streetable.

Ryan's 68 Barracuda at it's first San Diego cruise and I happened to be at the right place at the right time...

Lots of rear tires, looks really good!

He's owned it for 12 years if I remember correctly what he said, and spent about a week getting it back up and running so it come come out and cruise before the cruise season was over for this summer. Nice guy, didn't mind talking for a while about his Barracuda, and showing the neat fold down panel to open the trunk area to the fold down rear seat, like the 66 Charger.
Nice looking upholstery, just like the type that was in my Superbee
The fold down panel demonstrated in up^ and down v

Small block that started life as a 318... it sounds really very healthy, 8 3/4 resting on springs moved inward with a shackle relocation kit, and no tubs!
