one of the most impressive things I'd seen in the past at SEMA was that some guys had autographs on their SEMA pass... and I realized this year, that I'd take the opportunity too!

 Yup, Don Garlits was at the Chevado booth! And so was Kenny Youngblood! 

Yes, there are other legends and icons there at SEMA, such as Richard Petty, Mario Andretti, Jay Leno, Larry Chen, Chip Foose, Ron Capps, Jimmy Shine, Tony Stewart, Bob Larivee  etc https://www.semashow.com/celebrity-appearances  but I'm not going to spend all my time at SEMA standing in lines for autographs.

 The lines for Richard Petty and Mario Andretti were AROUND the booths. You'd be in line so long that the autograph session would be over by the time you got to the front

A special Delorean was ordered by the guy who owned BMX and Mongoose, but worked up into looking great by adding graphics by Kenny Youngblood

This one-of-a-kind Delorean was built in ’82–83 for its original owner, Skip Hess, the founder of BMX Products, the Motomag Wheel and Mongoose Bicycles.

Gary Hall, who owned Hall Pantera in Los Angeles and Fat Jack Robinson formed a partnership called Ultra Cars and Components, they hired Kenny Youngblood as their graphic designer.  Hess had it shipped to them from the dealership for the tires, rims, paint, and engine upgrades

Hess sold it at auction in 1986, and it remained in the hands of a collector until 2017 when it was listed on Ebay, but didn't sell, and the current owner made a deal with the seller

The Mickey Thompson tire booth had a big variety to display, and Kenny Youngblood doing art too!

 You get to choose which car you like from the above, and Kenny colors it up the way you prefer, and then adds your name to it. A donation is a nice thing though... just saying. Artists starve for their art too often

Hot rodding's artist, Kenny Youngblood was at SEMA and for a donation was personnalizing Challenger and Camaro prints

Kenny started young in drag racing, at age 12 he went to the San Gabriel drag strip and got hooked. He has built, co-owned, driven, crewed and crew chiefed on dragsters and slingshots.

His most recognizable design adorns the sides of the ZZ Top Eliminator 34 Ford coupe, the pattern for the interlocking logo ZZ .

My earliest find of his art was in the front of a Hot Rod magazine around 1992, when his

tribute to Kenny Bernstein's breaking the 300 mph was featured.

He may have invented the airbrushed headlights on funny cars, he certainly is attributed with perfecting them, and due to the resurrence I believe I read somewhere that he designed and or painted the Hot Wheels/ Mattel "Snake and Mongoose" funny cars.
