a new series started today, looks like a comedy, with an interesting premise... a scientist shrinks his wife, and now has to figure out how to reverse the process

well, it makes it a lot harder to step on her when she's full size, and easier to spoon. I could elaborate, lol... also, he has no clue how useful a mouse size wife is in a casino, or to sneak into the movies, etc
plus he must have not considered filing for her life insurance! And many other new things that having a 4 inch tall wife would bring to your world... like test taking, inspecting the insides of guitars, and if the small person was a medical dr... the internal inspections if they get popped into a small test tube that allows them to bring a light and do an internal look at arteries, lungs, etc.
Why does he have to bring her back to full size?
