it's more interesting to watch a fish out of water, than one in water

  1. Back in high school a friend of mine had one of those things. We drove it a lot during the summer of 1965 and both of us believed that it would be possible to get it up on 2 wheels while parallel parking.
    Unstable little scut.
That fall his alcoholic Mom used it to T-bone a '58 Chevy wagon...
She was an unstable little scut, too.
I felt sorry for the Chevy.

    1. How the heck would parallel parking get enough momentum? Were they that top heavy? Or that the curb would be just enough additional height to get the balance right for it to get onto just the two wheels?
Damn, it's bed that she hit the Chevy, and that she was an alcoholic... there were no soft dashes or steering wheels like now, to minimize the impact on the drivers body in a front end collision. Lots of smashed faces, broken noses, broken ribs, etc back then.
Must have been a fun high school car though, smaller and easier to park than most 60s cars!
