The cost to fix sidewalks in disrepair across the City of San Diego is $185 million. There are 37,000 of them

In the City’s recent staff report, they state that many of the sidewalks in the City are almost 100 years old and the typical lifespan of a sidewalk is 50 to 80 years. (I can verify that)

  1. average of $5,000.00 per repair isn't too bad. You figure that even a minor replacement is going to be a 3 person crew with a truck, trailer, demolition tools, digger, mixer and concrete it doesn't take long to add up to $5k
