This is the 508th MP Bn Motor Pool area at McGraw around 1962-63. http://www.usarmygermany.com/units/militarypolice/Partials_508th%20MP%20Bn%20g.htm
Hmmm... I'm almost sure this is not in Germany. In the background you have the U-Boot pen, look's like single corridor one so it would be former U-Bootwaffe base near La Rochelle in La Pallice port.
ReplyDeletewow.. well, I just find the photos and post them with the information provided. I can't take the time to try and verify the info, nor the location. But I sure don't mind when other people do!
Deletehttp://www.usarmygermany.com/Sont.htm?http&&&www.usarmygermany.com/Units/ComZ/USAREUR_ComZone%207.htm confirms it is indeed the U boat pens at La Pallice! Thanks!
DeleteNo problem lad, I'm glad I could help. You search for cool photos of cars and this is for sure one of them, sometimes description will be wrong or no description at all. But if we can help you get more info it's great, even better when this lead to more great photos of cars!
DeleteWould you know the colour of these cars?
ReplyDeleteGood heavens no. I suppose like all other Army cars in 1957 they are olive drab
DeleteChevy 150 4-door staff cars of US Army ware painted in olive drab with white descriptions and chromed bumpers.
DeleteYep... chromed, that's the style of 50's man!
