It's not just anecdotal, there were a LOT of teens who could afford muscle cars, and that's probably why so few survived the 70s... but this young guy has a nice Mustang with cool tires and rims
I like the snow tires on the back for those snowy north east winters. These were everyday cars at one time. My 69 Firebird 400 convertible was my only car back in the 80s & I had the knobbiest snow tires I could find on the back in the winter & a 80 pound bag of sand in the trunk to help traction. It really clawed through the snow. LOL!
My brother, in 1979, bought a nice 68 Mustang for $500 and drove it everyday for several years.
In 1980 I bought a 69 Mercury Cyclone Cale Yarbrough edition for $275 and drove it for years. My best friend had a 70 Torino with a Boss 351 we pulled from a wrecked Shelby Mustang in a junkyard. when he wrecked that, he got a 73 Trans Am for $1,200 he had Mud tires on the back of the Firebird, and weights in the trunk, in the winter and spring, we lived in rural Appalachia , and if you lived on a dirt road in the spring, you had to have weight in the truck and some off road tires to get around.
I looked at but didnt buy a 70 GTO Judge at an auction, that had a 400 4 speed, because the guys reserve bid was waaay too high. no one bid on it, I later went to his house and drove it but didnt buy it because the shifter was all messed up and it was hard to drive.
his reserve at the auction was $ 1,600
that same car is worth $50K today.
I also in 1986 bought a 1970 Trans Am for $1,100 and I had the trunk full of sand bags for driving in the snow.

Dang... you've had some VERY cool cars! Oh he must have known that Judge would be a car that would never depreciate again
