here's a strange one, a Gerlinger lumber loader straddle, also called a straddle carrier or straddle lift truck, that seems to be half size
In 1913, Harry B. Ross built the first straddle truck at the Stetson-Ross Machine Works in Seattle, Washington. It revolutionized the movement of lumber around mill yards, and would be replicated in later years by Gerlinger in 1918, Hyster, Yale, Caterpillar and a host of others.
Salesman's sample?
ReplyDeletepossibly, after all, it's easier to bring a small one around to lumber yards to sell them, as a traveling salesman, than to wait for the lumbermen to come to the main office.
