Cool story I just read and wanted to share, Buck Owens got the idea for his 1965 hit " I’ve Got a Tiger By the Tail" after seeing an Esso gas station billboard with the company’s slogan, “Put a tiger in your tank.”

I didn't know Buck was born in Texas but his family migrated west to Arizona during the Dust Bowl and Great Depression. 

He moved to Bakersfield with his wife and two young children in 1951 while working as a truck driver.

I also didn't know Merle Haggard was the first bass guitarist of Buck Owen & His Buckaroos

I'm shocked to learn that the 1963 hit "Act Naturally" in June of 65, (Owens's first top hit) was covered by the Beatles in 1965 with Ringo Starr as lead singer
