As of the late 2010s, there were mergers and acquisitions galore, and the company probably doesn't exist anymore, it's patents and IP, and all that probably are just fodder for equity companies.

Good piece of information. Enjoying it.
ReplyDeletethanks! I was surprised to come across it! I happen to live across a canyon from a water tower, and had the nutty idea to look up where the water towers are in this city, San Diego, and while no map appeared in the search results, that article did from the San Diego Reader (a long running free newspaper) and I found that gold nugget in there about a fruit company making a small town for the workers of the orchards and fields, and buying a water tower from the Chicago Bridge and Iron Works, and then I was happy to dig into the topic to find that a bridge company made water towers, so, now I have a thing relevant to the blog about wheels... the bridge connection, and found that they made small water towers for railroad steam locomotives... so 2x the relevant connection. Uselrss trivia, of course, but isn't most of it?

DeleteSo the tower in that CB&I brochure is literally just a couple miles from my house. Imagine my surprise when I scrolled down, saw the picture, and thought, "That looks a lot like the tower over on Rt. 40." and then read the caption.
