The role of Israel's hijacking of Iran’s street cameras in the killing of the Iranian religious leader underscores how surveillance systems are increasingly being targeted by adversaries in wartime.
On Feb. 28, Israel vividly demonstrated the potential of such systems to be hacked and used against adversaries when Israel tracked down Iranian religious leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei with the help of Tehran’s own street cameras
Iran has installed tens of thousands of cameras in its capital in response to waves of protests, most recently in January, when massive nationwide demonstrations ended in a bloody crackdown that killed many thousands of Iranians.
That Tehran's cameras were compromised was no secret: the city's cameras were repeatedly hacked starting in 2021
flock cameras dont need to be hack as they were too dumb to secure them properly

I'm feeling that these Condor models are simply nothing more than low grade public access cameras, like the zoo, beach, and look out point cameras that are widely known on the internet as tourist view cameras. Sure, they weren't intended to be this accessible, but, with every Ring camera on homes, every dash cam, Tesla cars with cams constantly recording, and the tourist cams, the moment for caring about what's public, and data logging/tracking us in public? Is long past. Then there are the ATM cameras, commercial building security cameras, hundreds of traffic cams on the interstates in most cities, etc. etc.
DeleteSome cities are using stop light cams, speed limit cams, and I can't even guess what more... cams on public transportation? Parking garages?
but getting back to the story I posted... it's hilarious that one country hacked another countries religious surveillance cameras (so they can catch women getting "western" like us infidels) and used their own cameras against them to assassinate their religious leader.
I'm surprised this didn't get the two opposed religions followers into a new religious war
