this 55 Gullwing was ordered new by the engineer/designer at Hudson (thank you Doug!)

I find it interesting to see what the people who run car companies buy for their own driving pleasure... 

this one was ordered new by Frank Spring, chief engineer for Hudson, who was responsible for penning the Hudson Italia.

And until looking through the photos on this, I didn't know that Mercedes (or Daimler Benz) put belly pans on these

    These cars are are very hard to get or our due to the tall side frame. Cost is another small issue too. I've thought that would be a great car to replicate with those and other things to improve. Small block Chevy and a fiberglass or carbon fiber body would be a good start! I want one!

    The belly pan system is being replicated today, installed it's around 40k. That pan system on that 300 looks new. As far as 'Flagg's' comment goes, I believe there are some fiberglass reproductions out there.
