this was a cool surprise, I haven't seen a Starion in years

The Starion is was made from 1982 until 1989 — with variants known as the Conquest, under the Chrysler, Dodge, and Plymouth brands.

  1. Needs a bit of love! Mitsubishi took over the Chrysler manufacturing plant here in Adelaide and built Sigmas,Magnas and the last hurrah, the 380.Was their big effort to stave off closure but did not last long at all.Sadly,we now have no vehicle manufacture in Aust.,along with many other industries!

    1. and it bugs me that no one in Australia has cracked the code on how to pull in a major car maker. There has to be a secret recipe to draw one in, but keep in mind, I'm so full of hyper optimism right now from watching Ted lasso I could puke. Did you ever see the movie about how Honda got into Ohio? Gung Ho, The movie star was Michael Keaton. Very cool movie. Anyway, if an author about kids with magic, can earn more money after taxes, than the queen of her country, then some cool stuff is likely to happen with a wonderful enough premise, like an inexpensive useful car for single people... 2 doors, AC, small enough for parking spots, lots of air bags and safety. Now, no one makes one. Everyone is overdoing all the tech stuff... well, owners can install all the tech they want, they don't need a touch screen... just an I pad or laptop holder. That right there will show the back up camera, they install. And will play AM, FM, XM, and You Tube. But without being an expensive thing that will break because the manufacturer had to go with the least expensive radio and touchscreen. So, just like the Wrangler is simply a foundation that everyone seems to upgrade to the Nth degree, someone needs to make the car, that everyone will want to buy, and upgrade. But most of all, they won't NEED to, it'll be serviceable for students, poor first time buyers, divorced people, and new to the work force people. JUST LIKE THE MODEL T, and the MUSTANG, and the CIVIC.
It'll happen again, and I hope it happens in Australia. Some damn cool cars were made in Australia. I want that to happen again. The whole history of cars is available to look through and figure out what worked, and why. Some one will realize that they can sell a car based on lower maintenance costs, better quality, and lower car insurance. The world is fed up with costs involved AFTER a car is bought. We will love a mediocre car that never disappoints us, like every damn chronically recalled Ford, Chevy, and Jeep. We want a Toyota they way they were made when they earned their reputation. A VW when they made a Bug! before diesel-gate. A Model T when they put every other car maker on notice that the good ol car sales days were over. A Cadillac when they shocked Europe with perfect interchangeable parts. A Honda when they made a Civic that was better than the American smog system, and put the big 3 on notice that the future would be Japanese cars. And for 10k less than the garbage that we are offered now with 4 doors, back seats, and endless recalls. We don't need 4 doors, or backseats, we won't ever have passengers, and we hate sitting at the dealership service waiting room for recalls and warranty work and repairs of things the engineering should have prevented. More planning would result in lower costs passed onto the buyers
