It's RARE to see a cool old mini. I don't know if I've seen one on walkabout before
MG Midget, I'm pretty sure
Nissan 300 ZX, once the big dog. I bet a properly sorted out example would be a good competitor for a Corvette. Based on the area being Mira Mesa, central area of all the fans of rice rockets, and ground zero of Fast and Furious fandom from day 1. Plus based on the looks of this, I'm guessing this was put into a permanent time out by the cops, and maybe the owner has some nutty idea about hanging onto this instead of selling it, in order to fix it up... like every nutter without a plan does.

1. That Mini sure must use a lot of oil.
ReplyDelete2. Yes that's a Midget, confirmation is in the word "Midget" on the valance panel.
I enjoy your walkabout photos, and am jealous of the SD weather!

I can recommend it as a place to vacation, but it's a lot of money to see it as a vacation destination. The right tour guide would make this seem like every So Cal fantasy rich life place, country clubs, golf courses, one hell of a zoo, marinas and seaside restaurants, galleries, museums, hot air balloon rides, and the gliderport, wineries and horse stables. No fooling, it's got all that, and Ferrari club meets, the Lamboguys with their Saturday morning bull run, skyscraper rooftop bars, and all other stuff people with lots of money can enjoy. Indoor skydiving, go cart racing, Baja 1000 race, day trip deep sea fishing, etc
DeleteBut, it's just another city with a lot of McDonalds, Costcos, potholes, traffic jams, and the rest of the ordinary stuff.
Just with more days in the 60s and sunshine that rarely ends. Rust free old cars and the best Mexican food this side of the border with TiJuana
