unbelievable French junkyard find... 65 Dodge Power Wagon tow truck, that with very little effort, is up and running... a handcrafted wrecker, certified by the French vehicle registration authorities. This truck combines the robustness of a Dodge WC 51 chassis (1944 Ambulance S7MA51) with the aesthetics of a Citroën U23 cab (1954).

This seems to have been simply abandoned one day, for no reason... everything works.

HA! at about 10:40, he discovers the Mopar left hand threaded lugs on the drivers side (for safety) and nearly snaps one off before trying it backwards

And of course, change your Youtube play speed to 1.5 or more

I remember posting something else this guy fixed up, I'm certain it was a very cool tractor, but it's been a while. He is very good, and does not talk during the videos he makes.

  1. Harking back to my childhood as a budding car nerd, for a couple of years I went to a school in a neighboring town, along with a friend who lived nearby, and our parents took turns driving us to and fro. The friend's mother drove a 1953 Plymouth, and it had a flat tire, and I was all full of myself, at age 11 or so, knowing how to operate the jack and change the tire and all that stuff. Except, of course, that this was a left hand tire, and having learned on a Ford and a Chevy, I couldn't get the blinking lug nuts off, and she had to call someone! It was an embarrassment but a lesson never to be forgotten.

No problem otherwise, though, as she was a very nice person, and one of my other fond memories of the time was that for my 12th birthday, she gave me a present I definitely wanted, but only she would have thought of: a whole big cooked lobster, with a green ribbon on it.
