February's banners... I think, are better than usual, since I took a little bit more care to select more interesting ones this month

Next months will be a bit more ordinary, I'm afraid. It's hard to find really good banners

  2. Well,I'll have a go. My personal favs. are: The red caboose on all that white snow background! The gold roadster,so clean, and those headlights! The Aussie Charger...enough said! The single cab Splitty and the TR3...what are they each worth today? And to finish;I don't think I've seen a more iconic pic of the mighty SR71 Blackbird! Wow.

    1. Oh thanks for the call outs of the ones you like the most! No one does that anymore! I like the feedback to see what connects.
Yeah, that SR 71, what a cool photo!
the 1st of the dry lakes racing.. that guy IS just a car guy. The 3rd, the fireman with the models? He's loving life. The 7th with the kids doing handstands... absolute Norman Rockwell Americana. The 8th, with the T Buckets... wow. The 10th, the dragon fly design plane... holy shit. Has wheels! The 13th is the Superbird, what a good action shot. The 15th, the dune buggy guys goofing around. Then after the snow drift photos, is the guy leaning on the race Ford Galaxy, HE'S a car guy! The red photo under him of the strange facial expression, like "Are you not impressed how slick I am?" I already mentioned the 71, and the last one, wow, good Hollywood scene moment between actors, well laid out for my needs as a banner, wide, not high, with the upper left area blank, a pretty woman, and classic car

    2. Yes, an exceptional month Jesse. The SR71 was my #1. Every story about them I find amazing. #2 was the R/T Valiant Charger as I grew up as a kid around them as well as Torana XU1s, Torana SLR5000s and a Ford Falcon GTHO phase 3. The cantilevered boat with the guys sitting in it #3. But really, I look at them again and I am rethinking the fav order. Maybe the Studebaker on the ice curb, the streetsweeper...

  3. I really liked the picture of the pitstop at Daytona when you used it as a banner. It captures the action well.

Is Carroll Shelby in the first picture?

    1. Thanks! It's one of the few images I've seen from Nascar, in the 65-73 era, the classic era, where the camera man was in the right place, didn't have any people blocking the view of the car, but they also aren't blocking the view of another crew member, and they are no standing around, the one guy on the left is flying through the air at an angle, between the moments his feet touched the ground. Plus, great view of a mopar with a chin spoiler showing how engineered that spoiler was to get the job done right.
No, I would bet it's not Shelby, he didn't hot rod. He went right to racing sports cars, an MG first, then an Allard, Aston Martin, I think Ferrari.
