news to me.... they built about a 100 Barracuda and Challengers in Antwerp Belgium, and some in De Nekaaf, Rotterdam, Netherlands

there were even a few assembled in Switzerland.

What's really cool are the 100 or so all white Challengers that were assembled at the Simca plant in Poissey.

How've I been a gearhead, a car guy, a mopar fan - and not learned of this until now?

and that had me realize the French racing Barracuda was probably made in Europe

Gary lived in Ohio and had just purchased a brand new 66 (Hemi) Belvedere I HP2 (one of 32 with a 4 spd) when Vietnam happened

After Uncle Sam asked him to join other young Americans in South-East Asia, he made the painful decision to sell his pristine automobile.

He survived his combat tours, returned to civilian life, got married, raised a family, and eventually relocated to Florida. Yet, the memory of that spectacular dark blue metallic Plymouth never entirely faded away.

After his children grew up and left home, the veteran decided to track down his original vehicle. Miraculously, he found the exact car back in Ohio. It had changed hands multiple times and endured extensive drag racing abuse, which had left it without its original motor. Undeterred by its rough condition, he purchased the battered machine, transported it back to Florida, sourced a replacement engine, and began a passionate, meticulous restoration process.

With the vehicle “about 90 percent completed,” personal issues struck again. His wife demanded a divorce and insisted on liquidating their assets, forcing the heartbroken veteran to sell his treasured automobile a second time.

the HP2 exterior badges stood for “Hemi-Powered Plymouth.”

Bitchin' Plymouth Savoy (I think) was minding it's own business, when some young punk Mustang smacked it up alongside the back bumper. Things got UGLY fast.

So, the camera didn't get an image of what the nose of the Mustang looked like, but, since he was the dumb ass running into someone who was parked, and obviously large enough to see over the dash board, no sympathy here.

The hit was not recorded, just the yelling afterward. I bet someone out there did record this from another angle, if you see that, send me a link please

the only FM3 1970 Fury III known to exist was at the 2025 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals

although it has a fender tag that indicates "special paint" and "special order," the main tag lists the paint's FM3 code. That's unusual because special-paint factory cars usually have the 999 code.

The one-off paint job also includes a white-painted top. This is a rare feature on any 1970 Fury because they were usually ordered with vinyl roofs.
