I asked what the hell this is, and Some Guy answered in the comments, with a 1974 Pontiac Catalina Safari Station wagon with a 455.

I'm certain I haven't seen one until now.

Not good looking, BUT, probably would be invited to any car show for it's rarity!

I'll even go as far as to say it's ugly. Or, if that's too much, maybe you'll agree it's not "classically handsome"

spotted while out walking tonight... this good variety, but not a single car cover.

Catalina, quite surprising to see, there just can't be many 60 year old Pontiacs around. Why a 4 door is still around, and not a preferred 2 door hi perf? I don't know and can't guess.  Well, maybe because the young crazy lead footed guys wrecked more of the hi perf cars

Nicest station wagon I've seen in a while

I guess the same reason this 4 door Fairlane is still around, it wasn't raced about

this poor Tacoma... so much pollution on the hood, and the tarp? What the hell does a new truck need a tarp on the hoof for? Plus, the registration is two years expired

yes, way up the driveway, blocked in by a couple hundred thousand dollars of BMW

and the best surprise for last, a GTO!

Umm, yes, Southern California is an amazing place to find people driving cool old cars, and storing great old cars, and if I may brag a bit, where old cars don't rust very much at all.

Ever want a car really bad, one that you can't get because not enough were ever made? Ever want it so much that you'd make it? Dennis wanted a Royal Bobcat Super Duty Catalina, so he made one!

As a well-paid 18-year-old helper on a beer truck, he had come close to owning just such a car in September 1962. Driven by automotive lust and blessed with a bank account that was quite healthy for a young man, he traveled to Royal Oak to put some dollars down on a Super Duty 1962 Pontiac Catalina.

But by the time he had the cash in hand, the factory had stopped shipping ’62 Super Duty Catalinas, and it was the styling of the ’62 and the special Bobcat accessories Royal Pontiac offered only that year that had won his heart. He eventually settled for a Royal-modified ’63 Grand Prix with a four-speed transmission and 421 engine, but it wasn't the car he had pined for.

The years flew by and Koss cruised Woodward in a variety of hot Pontiacs, but he never forgot his first love. So in 2002, when he stumbled across a ’62 Catalina, he knew it was time to make a Royal Bobcat SD Catalina. For the time being, he restored it, and took to to car shows.

Fast forward to the 2007 when the stunning Catalina caught the eye of an old-time Royal Pontiac employee named Ken Conrad, who pegged the car as a great candidate for the full Bobcat treatment. Koss concurred, of course, but told Conrad he didn't want to do it unless it could be done in full, complete with those unobtanium wheel spinners. “No problem,” Conrad said. “I have a set.”
