Big Willie edition Charger is one of the "last call" models, and has 807 Hp

There will only be 300 2023 Dodge Charger King Daytonas being produced, all of which are based on the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody in the bold Go Mango paint.

Designed to honor West Coast drag-racing legend William “Big Willie” Robinson, who nicknamed his 1969 Charger “King Daytona”, the 2023 Dodge Charger King Daytona aims to do him justice by rocking an engine with 807 hp

the LA Times has just begun a podcast series on Big Willie

LA Times Studios launched “Larger Than Life,” a docu-series about Big Willie Robinson. Reported and hosted by Times staff writer Daniel Miller

There is a short video to introduce it on https://twitter.com/latimes/status/1147661506349346817

but NOT on youtube, Vimeo, or daily motion,... nothing I can use to embed the video here so you can check it out without clicking through. The podcast is available on Apple, Spotify and Stitcher, just not I Heart Radio

but you can read the LA Times article about Big Willie and the Street Racers: https://www.latimes.com/local/la-me-larger-than-life-street-racing-podcast-20190709-htmlstory.html

a variety of great dragsters and other cool car stuff from Stiffspeed's 2014 posts

you might not realize why I dig the above image...  Ed is in one of his Weird Os sweaters I've posted so many of http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2010/01/roth-monster-shirts-and-goodies-from.html and http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2010/01/meet-gang-at-roths.html

I've never seen a Vespa dragster before. Topolino and Bantam, even bucket T, but not a Vespa... thanks to Kim for this link http://www.voicesofeastanglia.com/2012/04/small-and-mighty-the-vespa-400-microcar.html

here's another link to what they looked like: http://khooll.com/post/21387664835/the-vespa-400

it's so rare that a photo of a dealership shows up from the late 60's that looks cool

Big Willie and Tomiko in a photo I've never seen before

Hurst's USO tour girls and Jeep

I'd like to know how he engineered that portable crows nest, and I'd love to make one for a lot of events

the 70's were quite a roll, the cars that were customized were far out, the ones that were produced were lousy. Here's a cheer to the customizers, the "Street Freaks" , and the street racers. Winged warrior variety

Daytonas above, Superbirds below

How about that hood scoop arrangement? A pair of Super Bee / Demon scoops, and arranged in a unique way I've never seen before. Plus, the fender scoops for tire clearance that are normally found on Superbirds aren't on this car
