ever heard of the Richard W. Erickson Antique & Classic Museum in Utah? It's a 50 year collection that fills 24 buildings, has 120 antique tractors, and a 60s vintage service station

Richard grew up in a farming family in Minnesota and was drafted into the military during the Korean War. When he reported for duty in San Diego, he drove through Utah and fell in love with it.

When his service was up Erickson "went back home, packed his flathead Ford car, strapped his Harley-Davidson motorcycle on the back of it, and he drove to Utah.”

the museum collection includes a 1938 Lincoln Zephyr that was used in the 1991 film “Bugsy,” 

a 1913 Pierce Arrow 48-B Runabout Motorcar, 

a 1931 Packard Model 833, 

a 1936 Cadillac Phaeton Fleetwood that belonged to an English baron, 

and Steve McQueen’s 1946 Indian Motorcycle — one of his personal riders.

for the 1940 model Ford came up with one of the best looking car designs, and this one only has 12k miles on it since new

it's selling for about 43k, with original black paint, chrome, upholstery, Ford script spare tire and original paint spare wheel, original rubber trunk floor mat, 85 horsepower flathead, 

This is a standard model so it only has one tail light and painted headlight rims which makes this particular car that much more interesting. 

I hope it finds a good home!

 On the door it clearly says "Fisk" which was the tire company that promoted it's safety stripes on it's tires in the late 30s and early 40s

it looks like Travis is moving out of San Diego and up to Seattle... damn.

So he had to start driving his hot rods up to his new place, and the '40 I've admired that he's fixed up over the years was the recent moved car.

Made it all the way up the West coast with only one small problem, a fuse blew on the lights, but was quickly fixed.

On the way up though, he was stuck in traffic in Los Angeles, on the 5, and some random guy jumps out and hands him a Cuban cigar, telling him he deserved it for driving this cool old car

Another great guy moving on and out for a better life than this overexpensive underpaying city was going to help out.

What the heck will he do with the cool boat he fixed up?

Now he has both his cool old cars up north

a 1940 Ford cutaway chassis and running gear bought from Iowa state university in 1994, it was offered to the Henry Ford Museum who declined to accept it, thinking they already had one. They don't, they have an Oldsmobile.

a trainer and driver’s education instructor at the university that was employed by the school from the 1950’s well into the 1980’s claimed that he was very familiar with the chassis and that he had, in fact, used the chassis as a teaching tool starting in around 1957. They used the chassis for decades until sometime in the 1980’s.
