Unreal. In 2025 that a factory in the US has that many people on payroll who aren't in the the country legally, or not legally able to work in the US... how's that even happen?
I just went through the job hiring process, for the umpteenth time, and there ain't no way that you get hired without a birth cert and drivers license. So how were 475 people on someone's payroll?

A little peculiar situation as those people were most South Koreans working for South Korean corporation, embassy even send own representatives there to protect rights of own citizens. Supposedly there are a contractor workers hired by Hyundai in SK and working or at least thinking they are working legally in US. Details are confusing at this moment, peculiar situation as I said.
ReplyDeleteindeed, you and I agree of course, and that's why I called it Strange News.
DeleteIt' likely that not all the 475 are clearly, blatantly illegal... but, odds are most of them can't be straight up clear and simple legal employees.
After all, any and every news item is a chance for the political machine to score points for who ever makes a big move, or screws up the most... so they probably aren't going to risk a big fat ugly raw egg on the face, when they send in immigration enforcement.
It's as simple as using computers to check the taxes, and the hiring paperwork, the I9 forms.
