I grew up in the 60's and 70's on SAAC Air Force bases so got used to seeing B-52s and KC-135s constantly flying around. But I always stopped to watch. Such an impressive sight. Also loved the fighters as they were allowed to break the sound barrier in those days. Better booms than Independence Day fireworks!
Me also.I lived in New Brunswick,Canada ,just a few miles East of Loring AFB in Northern Maine. Constant B-52s and KC-135s in the air in the 50s and 60s.I still remember the double cracks of the fighters breaking the sound barrier. We also had Canadian F-86 Sabres, based at RCAF Chatham roaring through.
