Lucky enough and coincidentally I rode in one just yesterday! It's one that I did some paint repair on, and he took it to a local cruise in.
whoa, that is an astonishing coincidence. I've never even heard of the Wayfarer Sportabout Roadster until yesterday morning when I posted it !
My Mom bought the Wayfarer two-door sedan in 1950. The Sportabout is adorable but the power aw=as negligible. Great sport for the elderly.
No doubt the power was unimpressive, no one cared about making "power' until the 60s, imho. Before that, tires, brakes, and steering were garbage. The power was likely in sync with the rest of the lousy systems. But they were built to last...
