I've posted before about Vantablack... maybe this similar paint, will show up at SEMA, and get distributed in the USA for sale
A team at Nipsea Group, working through its Color Technology and core R&D unit in Shanghai, has developed what it describes as an "ultra-black coating" capable of absorbing roughly 99.9% of visible light. The material is clearly inspired by Vantablack, the carbon nanotube coating that makes objects look almost flat and featureless.
Insurance companies are probably not happy to sign a contract. Here in the UK, according to statistics, black cars are more likely to have accidents, which is why insurance rates are higher for these vehicles.
ReplyDeletewow, I didn't know that about the color, the stats, and the insurance company connection! Thank fully, insurance companies here (california) do not ever look at the vehicle, and have no idea of it's color, safety, modifications, etc. It's just year, make and model to them.
DeleteWould this be a good defense against laser radar?
