they insisted on going out without something ahead of them to plow out the road, and spent the whole day getting each other unstuck. Not a smart way to enjoy the ride.
That pickup looks just like the '66 I once drove on a long-ago job. It had slightly oversized bias-ply snow retreads (old Firestone Town and Country pattern -"You go in snow or we pay the tow") with studs. It had the worst spine-kinking ride,and a tendency to fly into the treetops in a breeze, but I can bet that would be the vehicle that pulled all the others out!. On my 71 later, I had chains. If you need to go someplace, you get to go.
