at least they are trying to drive them

they insisted on going out without something ahead of them to plow out the road, and spent the whole day getting each other unstuck. Not a smart way to enjoy the ride.

  1. That pickup looks just like the '66 I once drove on a long-ago job. It had slightly oversized bias-ply snow retreads (old Firestone Town and Country pattern -"You go in snow or we pay the tow") with studs. It had the worst spine-kinking ride, and a tendency to fly into the treetops in a breeze, but I can bet that would be the vehicle that pulled all the others out!. On my 71 later, I had chains. If you need to go someplace, you get to go.

  3. Thing is jesse, they did get there. Try that with any other two wheel drive vehicle;and I speak from experience. We have a few in our Club that like to tackle the "less travelled" roads every couple of years, for charity.Other groups in Aus. do similar. May find some pics on our website. Still lovin' your work,Mate.

    1. Yes, but.. have you done it in snow, a long way from passable roads? I have, and you're right, the challenges and the mates, those are awesome. But being stuck in snow all day, over and over? Not a thing I'll go do for fun. It's not just exercise, it's exercise that you're results depend on - getting warm, getting home. Similar to being stuck in the sand dunes... but colder. I'm not sure which is less pleasant, hot, or cold.

  4. And I should have added that like me,to some it's all about the journey and the trials and the mates you forge along the way;not the destination.
