I came across something extra interesting on todays walk... and it was on yesterdays street! Huh! Wasn't there yesterday! A Plymouth Valiant Acapulco

I've never seen one before.

Based on a V200 Signet, the Acapulco was not available in the US or anywhere else outside of Mexico

If you ordered it right, you could get a Hurst shifter factory installed, and a cobra snakeskin top with a hardtop

  1. That's one of the few Valiants I've looked and and thought "that would be kind of nice to have." Though the "automatico" emblem gives one pause. The pushbutton automatic that some Valiants had was, to put it mildly, hard to love. I could see, a little convertible with the slant 6 engine anda proper transmission being a pretty nice daily driver.

    1. Right, a small car, a fun little thing, and of course, a few upgrades would go a long way to increasing power and braking, even suspension, so it's even more fun. Imagine this little car out corner carving! Cone dodging! With the top down!

  2. Wow Jesse! who knew such a creature even existed and in such remarkable condition too.
I wonder if you'll be able to spot it again in or around the same neighborhood...

    1. I didn't! I can check to see if and when it comes back if you want to know, it's a block from where I work. Those bumpers are primo, they've either been replaced, or rechromed and straightened out. It's really damn rare to have original bumpers this perfect when it's not museum kept.

  4. I have never heard of one, Is it Mexico built? I did have a 1964 Valiant, teal 4 door 6 cyl and quite rusty.

    2. Ya, looking back that was kind of a stupid question. I kill myself sometimes but in my defense, you are closer to Mexico than I am ;)
