the source says it's a Wankel... So, I go with that. Obviously it's a BIG one cylinder, but the source says "the Wankel 4-rotor engine prototype" and since I have never seen a Wankel? Well, ok. I just run with what the source says... plus, the NSU car, DID have a Wankel. So, it's plausible. Maybe it was the bike for the engine in Prototype stage? I don't know
