new tv series announced about Nascar, from AMC, one of the first long-form dramatic series to partner with the racing body.

“Thunder Road is about the Whitlock racing dynasty, a family bound by legacy, love, and the weight of their name.” said Fusco. “Set against the high-stakes world of NASCAR and the mythic outlaw roots of a sport born on the whiskey-running backroads of the south, you might call it Succession with stock cars. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to bring this dramatic, action-packed, uniquely American story to life with AMC and NASCAR.”

  1. I live in the Deland area of Florid and remember back in the early 90s a NASCAR TV show pilot with Lee Majors being filmed in the area. I don't believe it ever made it into production.

    1. he made a movie "Daytona" in 1996 (A beach cop who assists Daytona Beach lifeguards and drives NASCAR as a hobby.) and in 1997 " was developing a NASCAR-themed TV show but the pilot was not picked up for a series" according to the internet.
Huh! I never heard about either until you mentioned it... thanks!

  2. Being as NACAR is so politically correct and all of the cars are exactly the same per NASCAR I will not be watching a live race much less a TV make believe TV series. Hell, they can't even have a good ole fist fight anymore. When the Confederate Flag was banned NASCAR lost a lot of fans including me! And that's my rant for the day. Carry On Jesse!
