near Rubidoux Avenue in Riverside (California) is a war-surplus Curtiss Commando converted into a house in 1947. It was built by two women, Cheryl Williams and Jean Sutherland, who needed affordable housing after the war.
A later owner, Larry Schulte, bought the property from Sutherland's daughter approximately 40 years ago. He lived in the plane for many years until it became uninhabitable
