Kyu-shirataki Station, one of most remote train stations in Japan, made headlines because it was kept open so one schoolgirl could commute to school (an hour away) and closed after her graduation.
The girl was using it nearly every day to get to school in a city an hour away. So the planned closure was postponed until she was done.
The trains arrival schedule literally revolved around her and her school times and when she didn't have school that day, the train wouldn't stop there.
