rust free old trucks are still out there!

  1. Yes they are but the cost as gone crazy. Very few reasonable bargains for a young kid to restore one. That goes for my old carcass as well!

    1. you're right. However, I think that a truck like this, found in the wild with no "for sale" sign, is the best way to buy a good one (only based on a rust free body) for the least amount possible.
Anyone selling, has an idea what they must get for their truck, but anyone who is randomly hit up, out of the blue, with a question like, Will you sell me this truck? Might be caught flat footed, and have no clue how much the trucks similar to that have been selling for, and maybe a guy could spin a quick story about how it's just like the one their dad had, and how they've been looking for one.
Then, throw down with a "how about we talk about trucks over beer and pizza, where's your favorite place?" and never mention buying the truck again, just let the conversation roll on, and at the end of the day, say "well, when that truck needs a new home, let me know.
That, is what I think is the best chance of getting a good truck for the least cash. After all, I don't buy and sell. I've had my R/T for 23 years and counting. I don't like flippers just trying to profit from others, and running up the cost to everyone
