another car collector stuffed cool cars into a couple barns, died without driving or restoring them, and they're all going to auction.... enjoy the video

  1. Wow i would love to have that 65 Fastback....my all time favorite Mustang.

however, I would classify this guy as a hoarder, not a collector.

I think a true collector is someone who buys cars and a fixes them up and then displays or uses them. Someone like Jay Leno or a guy from our town that recently died named Chet Krause.
Chet had a collection of a few hundred old cars and WWII vehicles. They were all maintained in running order and stored in clean, dry, and well lit buidlings. For every holiday he would actually pick a dozen or so out and let us locals drive them in the nearby parades! Over the years I was able to drive a 1918 Winton Touring car and a WWII era Half-track (a dream come true), just to name two.
When Chet began having health problems, he sold most everything off, so they would be taken care of before he died. That's a true collector.

A hoarder just buys stuff and then hides them away until they rust away or he dies. No one gets any pleasure out of them, not even the hoarder.....
