Barnfind 1954 Corvette

The second owner of this early ‘54 Vette drove this car to a friend’s house to have the seats reupholstered and took them out, set an old wooden Pepsi pop bottle case in place of the driver’s seat and drove it home and parked it under a Ponderosa Pine tree. That was 1963 in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado at an elevation of 9,000 feet.

Dirty deeds, done dirt cheap, and is wickedly clever

It seems that a bunch of kids have come up with a way to fool those annoying speed cameras into giving tickets to the wrong people. Students from Richard Montgomery High School dubbed the prank the Speed Camera "Pimping" game.

How? Printing out fake license plates, taping them over their own and then speeding through the speed trap.

Students duplicate the license plates by printing plate numbers on glossy photo paper, using fonts from certain websites that "mimic" those on Maryland license plates. They tape the duplicate plate over the existing plate on the back of their car and purposefully speed through a speed camera, the parent said. The victim then receives a citation in the mail days later. Students are even obtaining vehicles from their friends that are similar or identical to the make and model of the car owned by the targeted victim, according to the parent.

Lesson to be learned form this, use it as your defense if you get a camera ticket, in conjunction with the American legal right to confront your accuser, and I bet the judge throws out the ticket. Or, use a lawyer to help, and have the same defense worded in a more proper legal fashion to impress the judge with your lawyers elocution.

IN the same line of camera misdoings, in Tempe Arizona, guys dressed as Santa Claus put gift wrapping paper around the cameras at a stop light, and posted a video of it to youtube.

Don't run over matresses... no matter how great the temptation.

This guy ran over a mattress but kept on going.
The ensuing jumble finally whipped around enough to put a tear in the gas tank, running out of fuel is what finally caused this vehicle stop.
It had still managed to drive 30 more miles with a 60lb tangle wrapped around the driveshaft.
This is what the dealership found..............
Thanks Mike!

In Brazil, there is a funny theory that says….

Where there is a VW Beetle, there is always another one! There are dozens of examples to illustrate this phenomenon in Danilo's post. Very cool idea to post this!

Beware black ice, it's moistness on roads that freezes, and so isn't as visible as a frozen puddle

The 3,150m long Lefortovo tunnel in Russia, (near Poland) is the longest in-city tunnel in all of Europe. It is nicknamed "The Tunnel of Death."

See for yourself why. There is a river running over the tunnel and water leaks through in some areas. When the temperature reaches nearly 0°C like it does during the winter in Russia, the road freezes and becomes a sheet of black ice.

The result is the attached video which was taken during asingle day with the tunnel surveillance camera. Congratulations to the dual-carriage bus driver -- imagine the passengers in the back! What a ride!

Thanks to Mike!

The translated version of a great post, about a new innovative way of recreating speedbumps that get bigger the faster you approach, and flat if slow

"Designers & Jae-yun Kim Jong-Su Lee say it's time to move on! No more of this silly giant bumps in the road when we could advance! So what do they do?
They make a speed bump that’s based on retractors that open if the impact with them is small enough. These speed bumps can be configured so that if a car is going below 30km/h, the speed bump flattens; over 30km/h, the force causes the retractor to stay closed, keeping the speed bump active. "

Cars and Coffee / Breakfast at Balboa, San Diego's Balboa Park once a month Sunday morning get together.

This mustang Gt 500 is in front of the AC Cobra, and I took these photos to show how oversized the Mustang is... and that's a lot of wasted space. The AC is only as long as the cut off Mustang image below. 1/4 of the front fender to the rear bumper.
