Word of the day: Dagmar

Which gives us the opportunity to look at a new feature of Google, looking in books...
The Ultimate Hot Rod Dictionary: A-Bombs to Zoomies By Jeff Breitenstein

A dagmar is the big missile / bullet shape pointing forward of the 1950's bumpers. If that doesn't explain it, just look at the tassel on this custom, then look at the bullet it's on. I dig the sense of humor!

Best video of the month, hillclimbing Starliner, Bel Air, Dart,Polara 4 dr, Farilane, and other assorted motley bunch!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HXvSsoYwio&feature=related filmed in Sweden, on a dirt road hill with a couple curves to get the supercharged overpowered room to fishtail and blaze the hides

Part 2 has a 23 track T, a Chevelle, a Futura, a Chevy II panel delivery, what appears to be a Holden Falcon 4 dr, and lots of other odd cool vehicles http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-GcHNl2aiA

Drag Rod and Classic Review, a cool website that has a good selection of Hot Rod news

From B-17 to SEMA to Bonneville, there are some good things to read there.. it's slow to load though http://www.drcreview.com/index.asp

Hello!

Hello Iceland, South Africa, Canada, Columbia, Mexico, Australia, China, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Japan, New Zealand, Peru, Chile, Russia, Indonesia, Spain, France, England, India and Brazil,

I can't distinguish the European countries, the American cities, and the rest of the mapped countries with red dots well enough to say Hi! specifically to you, however I send my regards your way too!

I'm surprised and amazed to see you stopping to look at my blog, I hope you are enjoying most of the stuff you see and read!

San Diego, home to at least 3 Bugatti Veyrons, seen here at Symbolic in La Jolla

Here are the 3 I found... I'm impressed, that has to be over 3 million in rolling stock, and a good percentage of all the Veyrons produced so far.

For the open house tour of the Symbolic shop where repairs and restorations are done: http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2008/03/symbolic-hosted-morning-meet-at-their.html

A car you've never heard of with a cool radio you've never seen, and it's got a HEMI!

David's 1954 Dodge Royal V Eight

Gas cap on one side, single reverse light on the other... huh.

Notice that on the left of the dial it shows a different word, selectable for the tone you prefer to hear: music, mello, or voice.
More to come when I remember to find the pics of the Hemi, a small Red Ram Dodge version, fired up instantly after sitting for months while the brakes are being replaced/upgraded.

Gauges and speedometers

Two differences between the above and below is the addition of a cutout addition of the clock instead of the clock being on the same face as the tach, and what is the "m" after each digit on the tach? I've never noticed one like it before.
