P. G. Woodhouse is an author who I first read when I was a teenager. Two years ago I bought several of his books, used, and spent months laughing. He deals with English parlor comedy and other English comedy from the Edwardian through the early 1930's. Plenty of stuffed shirts and idle rich. Love his writings. I am glad that you mention him. In one short story he describes a fine speedster that he calls a "Huffy-Puffy." His relationship with his aunt is a screech and his clever butler adds to the stories.
oh the dialog and humor of the comradery with his aunt is terrific! I'll post about the Huffy Puffy when I finally find that one book... lucky you to find him as a teen! I never heard of him until recently. Of course, you've heard of the website that tried to borrow the persona, of Jeeves, and be a search engine? Ask Jeeves.com I remember using in 20 years ago. I had no idea what that was about, other than a butler's nickname in the common sense, was Jeeves. I had never heard there was a butler character that made the name Jeeves famous.
