BNSF is making progress slowly on the new rail bridge going up in Bismarck, that will be operational in 2026, that when complete, BNSF said it will last over 100 years.

 

The original Bismark rail bridge was built by Northern Pacific Railway Company from 1880–1883 6 years before official North Dakota statehood 

It was the first bridge built across the Missouri River in the Bismarck area, and the original truss spans constructed in 1883 were replaced in 1905, but they limit the size and type of rail cars that can use it

The granite pier structures are the only original bridge elements that remain
