"I realized that if I could make one person smile or laugh, who wasn't going to today, I've done my job," she said. "And I don't even have to know who it is!"
That often includes her mechanic at Vintage Volkswerks on the northside.
Shari has made keeping up with her Bug, now fitted with the engine of a VW Bus part of her routine. Often when she swings by her mechanic, she'll drop off cookies, just to say thanks.
Great story,as usual! But Mate, what is that on your banner today? I am not a huge fan of extreme customs but that is awesome!
ReplyDeletethat's a 51 Muntz Jet... local to my area, I first saw it at a local car show in 1996. It's not very customized in the visual sense, other than lowering with air bags... it has been repainted since new, and reupholstered since new, but the body, bumpers, windshield, etc is all stock. What can't be seen has been utterly replaced. Art Morrison Chassis, Chevy engine, disc brakes, etc and was painted Candy Apple Pearl by Stan Betz https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1951-muntz-jet-2/
DeleteIt's a damn fine sports car for it's era, being that it's a derivation of the Kurtis Sports Car https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2014/06/frank-kurtis-high-school-graduation.html
