This saddle was patented by G.Rothgiesser in 1886

Clearly ventilation was good.

 In the catalog, the company publishes a testimonial from Thomas Marriott, who used the saddle on his 1007 mile ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats, on a tricycle, in 1885. He states that “…it is one of the best saddles yet brought out”.
