the driver's head and helmet are the only aerodynamic obstruction, and the fin is positioned behind that to serve as a headrest, and to then return the air to a non turbulent state by gradually returning the disrupted air to the original flow by the time it gets to the back of the car. The vertical dimension was to give the car stability (in theory) to keep it straight, like the rudder on a boat or airplane.
Beautiful car. Any reason why the fin is asymmetrically positioned on the driver's side?
