  1. Great pic.! However, that aerodynamic fuel tank could never make up the speed lost by the front fenders.

    1. wow... that's a very ASTUTE observation! Well done pointing that out, I was admiring the LOW slung aspect, and the cool fuel tank, and the leather or canvas inner fenders, and did NOT realize what a air dam those front fenders were!

  2. Interesting steering mechanism too! It's been said about French automotive design that "The French copy no one, and no one copies the French."

    1. HA! Good one! I do like the 2CV for it's quick tear down, and it's ability to create a scooter from scavenging parts from the car (that one guy once got out of the desert that way, I posted about it years ago) and the suspension on the other Citroen... I can't recall the model name, the DS1? is probably superior to any other suspension of 25 years before or after. And the Bugatti were French, and I believe, superior race cars to most others of their decade
Hmmm, there was another car, I rarely have ever come across it, from the 30s or 40s, I think the radiator emblem was a crossed set of cannons, and it was highly regarded for it's era.
But... lol, yeah, mostly, the French segment of auto history, is sad
