The Gordie Howe International Bridge officially opened to vehicle traffic this week, the event was led by the Governor of Michigan driving a Mustang ( built in Michigan, engine assembled in Canada)
Named after the legendary Canadian-born Detroit Red Wings hockey player Gordie Howe, it's the first new international border crossing between Detroit, Michigan, and Windsor, Ontario, in over 60 years.
The $4.5 billion dollar project is also the longest cable-stayed bridge in North America - spanning 1.5 miles over the Detroit River
