I’m not sure how much detail was offered in the Facebook article (I don’t have an account, thus I couldn’t pre-read the info there) but the Ardun heads allowed conversion of the stock Ford ‘Flathead’ V-8 engines into an overhead valve (OHV) design with hemispherical combustion chambers (a.k.a. a ‘Hemi.’) This yielded a considerable increase in power output and hence in performance.
The name ‘Ardun’ was a portmanteau of Arkus-Duntov, the family name of the principals of the company, brothers Zora and Yura Arkus-Duntov. Zora gained fame later as the ‘Father’ of the performance-oriented Chevrolet Corvette sports car.
thanks... lol, but did you look to see what I'd posted in the past 20 years? Or did you just see what the rest of the internet had? tsk, (walks away, hands in pockets, looking at the ground, kicks a can) https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/search?q=ardun
I would call it a "cutaway". Neat pic in any case.
