  2. Jesse, I just finished watching a 12 hour documentary on the National Parks by Ken Burns, it was very interesting, when cars started going to the parks it created a whole new era

    1. I look forward to someday seeing the Ken Burns docs, I haven't seen any yet. I've heard so many compliments about them. Yes, once people could get to them, then it changed the amount of people visiting them, drastically. Access is everything. Before that, very few people had the free time to take a couple weeks or months to travel by horse back to remote places... and during the time when the Europeans had created the hostilities with the natives, I imagine by the time railroads had pushed through, and then a road or two, in time for wagons, then the first automobiles, there wasn't a lot preventing anyone with the money, from becoming a tourist.
